CAREER
Carlen has performed stand-up comedy across the United States, contributed to award-winning films including The Color Wheel, and interviewed cultural luminaries ranging from Naomi Klein to Zach Bush. Her work often explores unorthodox perspectives with humor and heart — advocating for neurodiversity, biodiversity, and planetary well-being — reaching millions through outlets such as The New York Times, MTV News, The Today Show, and The Wall Street Journal. She believes that healing, laughter, and radical curiosity aren’t just personal tools — they’re collective superpowers.
THE REBIRTH
IN 2017, Carlen had an "inconvenient spiritual awakening" and STEPPED AWAY FROM MAINSTREAM SOCIETY TO FOCUS ON INNER AND OUTER HEALING + LIBERATION.
this period included DETOXIFYING FROM ANTIDEPRESSANT withdrawal, LEARNING everything under the sun ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH, AND livING off-grid — in bamboo huts in Bali and tiny homes nestled in California’s redwoods. During this time, she immersed herself in diverse AND UNORTHODOX modalities including but not limited to: detoxification, nervous system regulation, psychic training AND HYGIENE, and ancient spiritual practices guided by Shamans.
This deeply personal — and sometimes surreal — journey culminated in a defining realization:
“To TRULY GET FREE AND save the world, we must first save ourselves — and that requires a shift in SENSITIVITY, storytelling and collective consciousness… more than just a new PILL OR recycling program.”
TODAY, Altman is building a new paradigm of humor and healing — or, as she likes to call it:“The Bowel Movement.”
Through her MULTI-MEDIA projects — 1-800-EARTH, HOW TO GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER*, and her Substack EARTH TO CARLEN — she creates memorable art, design, media, and immersive experiences that reframe sht*, creativity, and laughter as holy acts — and powerful tools for cultural, biological, and personal revolution.Based between the USA and Mexico, she’s available for select collaborations and 1:1 client sessions ALONG WITH LONGER TERM CONS(O)ULTING PROJECTS.
