ABOUT CARLEN ALTMAN

Carlen runs 1-800-EARTH and How To Get Your Shit Together (launching 2025) among many other strange projects, blending humor & healing.

A NYC native, Carlen’s various artistic creations such as film, writing, standup comedy, improvisation, inventions and journalism have been featured on The Today Show, The New York Times, MTV News, VICE TV, The Sundance Channel, Refinery29, The Wall Street Journal, Elle, Teen Vogue, Nylon, The New Yorker and other fancy-schmancy places (probably run by aliens).

Carlen’s writing and journalism can be seen in print and web, including Free People’s website, focusing on the latest updates in holistic health & beauty, along with environmental journalism for MTV News.

She went then on to discuss the greenwashing of the environmental movement and other inconvenient truths in documentary-form.

COACHING

As a mentor/coach and consultant, Carlen uses a variety of tools to assist individuals and companies who wish to think outside of the box to make their personal and professional dreams come true (EXCEPT NIGHTMARES!)

EDUCATION AND TRAININGS…

Carlen is a graduate from New York City’s LaGuardia Highschool in Visual Arts, followed by a B.A. from Oberlin College in Psychology/ Environmental Studies.

 Carlen has also taken extensive comedy classes through Upright Citizen’s Brigade, People’s Improv Theater, HB Studio and Gotham Comedy Club and performed comedy all around the USA including Caroline’s NY, The Comedy Mothership and more.

PLOT TWIST!

Carlen moved in with her standup comedian father in 2016 to attempt to save him from cancer.

After Carlen’s father’s death in 2017 (I guess the whole “saving” part did not work so well), she had a profound spiritual awakening with the help of plant medicine and burned down her old life and started a new chapter focused entirely on healing, internally and externally.

Carlen went inward for 7+ years,becoming certified in Advanced Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica, completing the 2 year graduate program.

She then learned the mechanics of healing by becoming certified as an Integrative Health Practitioner.

Carlen has taken various post-graduate classes in a variety of healing modalities and honed her intuitive ability by attending the Seer Academy (formerly the Portland Psychic School)
