Welcome to Royal Advisory!
My intention is to create a thoughtful, playful, collaborative space where we can explore ideas, solve problems, question assumptions, and get things moving.
A few ground rules help make that possible.
01 / BOOKING & PAYMENT
Royal Advisory sessions are $99 USD for 60 minutes, payable in advance at booking.
Sessions are conducted privately by phone unless another arrangement is agreed upon in writing.
Please provide accurate booking information and be reasonably available at your scheduled appointment time.
02 / CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING
24+ hours' notice: You may cancel for a full refund or reschedule your appointment.
Less than 24 hours' notice: Payments are generally non-refundable. Genuine emergencies may be considered individually.
No-shows: A 15-minute grace period will be allowed before an unattended appointment is considered forfeited.
If I need to cancel: You will always be offered a full refund or an alternative appointment at a mutually convenient time.
03 / PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
Royal Advisory is a professional, collaborative space. Respect goes both ways.
Harassment, unwanted sexual or otherwise unprofessional comments or advances, threatening behavior, discriminatory abuse, intimidation, and serious or repeated boundary violations are not permitted.
I reserve the right to decline a booking or immediately terminate an interaction involving inappropriate conduct, safety concerns, or substantial misrepresentation of the appointment's intended purpose.
Bookings I decline before a session begins will be fully refunded. If a session must be terminated because of misconduct, payment for services already provided may be retained, with any remaining refund handled in accordance with applicable law.
Jokes welcome. Harassment isn't. Thank you for treating me with care and respect - the way you wish to be treated. ☯︎
04 / PRIVACY, RECORDING & PUBLIC ATTRIBUTION
I treat information shared during sessions with discretion, subject to applicable legal obligations, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to me.
Recording of any kind—including audio, video, screen capture, transcription, AI note-taking, or AI recording—is not permitted without prior mutual written consent.
Booking a session does not grant permission to publicly list, credit, advertise, or represent Carlen Altman as your consultant, collaborator, advisor, employee, affiliate, contributor, or endorser outside the booked session.
Any public attribution, endorsement, or ongoing professional relationship requires a separate written agreement.
05 / NATURE & SCOPE OF SERVICES
Royal Advisory offers creative, practical, educational, exploratory, and strategic guidance.
Although I am a certified Integrative Health Practitioner, these sessions do not constitute medical care, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, legal representation, or individualized financial advice.
You remain responsible for your own decisions, actions, and outcomes. Specific personal, professional, health, or financial results cannot be guaranteed.
Royal Advisory is not an emergency or crisis service.
06 / THE MUTUAL RESPECT CLAUSE
You are welcome to arrive confused, overwhelmed, unconventional, disorganized, curious, or unsure where to begin.
You do not have to perform productivity or have everything figured out.
If you have communication, accessibility, or sensory needs that would make our session more comfortable, you're welcome to let me know in advance so we can discuss reasonable arrangements.
All I ask is that we treat one another with kindness, honesty, and appropriate professional boundaries.
This is a creative space, not a test you have to pass.
07 / CREATIVE OWNERSHIP & RECIPROCITY
I believe the best creative work comes from mutual respect, trust, originality, and fair collaboration.
Respect for Original Work
Each party retains ownership of the original materials, creative work, intellectual property, and confidential information they bring into our collaboration.
Booking a session does not automatically transfer ownership of my pre-existing ideas, inventions, original materials, methods, or other intellectual property.
Likewise, clients retain ownership of their own pre-existing work and materials.
Use of Ideas and Materials
Clients are welcome to use general advice, feedback, and strategies discussed during their sessions for their own personal or professional purposes.
However, the standard session fee does not include ownership or commercial licensing of my pre-existing intellectual property, original creative works, proprietary materials, or separately proposed inventions.
Any commissioned creative work, commercial deliverables, licensing, intellectual property transfers, or ongoing collaborations will require a separate written agreement specifying the applicable rights, fees, and permissions.
Both parties retain their respective rights under applicable law.
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to treat nonpublic personal information, unpublished creative materials, and information reasonably identified as confidential with appropriate discretion.
Neither party will knowingly disclose or commercially exploit the other's confidential information without permission, except where required by law or otherwise agreed in writing.
This does not restrict information that is already publicly available, independently developed without using the other party's confidential information, or lawfully obtained from another source.
Creative Collaboration
For projects involving substantial creative development, inventions, licensing, or commercial use, we will establish appropriate written terms regarding ownership, usage rights, credit, compensation, and any applicable royalties before proceeding.
Creative Reciprocity
My intention is to create a collaborative environment where ideas are respected, contributions are acknowledged, and everyone involved has the opportunity to benefit fairly from their work.
